Glenbrook North Spartans Hockey

The GBN Jr. Varsity team beat Barrington 4-1 in Northbrook Friday night to capture the High School Invitational Tournament (HIT) Championship. Agressive offense, tight defense and solid golatending were all evident throughout the game. A dominant second period, in which GBN scored 3 times, was the difference.

GBN and Barrington had just played two days ago in a hard fought Scholastic Semi-Final game. Barrington eked out a 3-2 win in that game. Barrington had beaten GBN 3 previous times this season.

The two games this week showed that GBN may be peaking at the right time as they enter the second round of the State Tournament on Wednesday night, March 5th at the Edge.
