GBN Jr. Varsity won against Prairie Ridge 4 - 1 at Northbrook Rink A on Tuesday. GBN Jr. Varsity and Prairie Ridge both scored one goal to end the first period tied. GBN Jr. Varsity took the lead in the second period with two straight goals. It would prove to be too much for Prairie Ridge. In the final period GBN Jr. Varsity scored one goal adding to the margin of victory and winning the game.
In the first period, things got going when GBN Jr. Varsity's Logan Nein netted a goal with an assist from Jason Spector, with 9:46 left in the period. Prairie Ridge responded when Prairie Ridge scored a power play goal, to tie up the score. In the second period, in reply, GBN Jr. Varsity's Noah Ginsburg put the puck between the pipes with 8:09 left in the period. Justin Schoeneman assisted on the goal, to get ahead by 1. GBN Jr. Varsity was now out in front for good. GBN Jr. Varsity found more success on the ice when Logan Nein put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Jason Spector and Jared Epstein, with 6:08 left on the clock, adding to their lead. In the third period, keeping up the pressure, Alex Crane lit the lamp with assists from Jason Spector and Matthew Holly with 6:23 left on the clock, to move further ahead.
Having an impact in the game, Logan Nein made two goals for GBN Jr. Varsity. Alex Crane and Noah Ginsburg each contributed one goal for GBN Jr. Varsity. Jason Spector had three helpers. Holly, Epstein, and Schoeneman each tallied one assist for GBN Jr. Varsity.
GBN Jr. Varsity added to their current win streak of six games and now has a record of 46-5. Prairie Ridge ended the game with a record of 1-2.
