St. Viator Beaten Big By GBN Jr. Varsity 12-1

Matthew Holly slaps the hat trick while GBN Jr. Varsity allows few shots to win handily on the road

In a lopsided victory, GBN Jr. Varsity was superior against St. Viator 12 - 1 at West Meadows Scholastic Hockey League 1st round playoffs on Saturday. GBN Jr. Varsity outscored St. Viator four to one to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. GBN Jr. Varsity added five unanswered goals in the second period and held on to its lead. St. Viator's fate was sealed. In the final period GBN Jr. Varsity scored three straight goals sealing the deal and winning the game.

Having an outstanding day for GBN Jr. Varsity, Matthew Holly got the hat trick with three goals. During the first period, Holly put the biscuit over the goal line with an assist from Justin Schoeneman. Then Holly put the biscuit into the net in the first period with assists from Alex Crane and Michael Ferrarese. Holly netted another goal. Alex Crane and Michael Ferrarese assisted on this goal. GBN Jr. Varsity's Tyler Mulier scored two goals for GBN Jr. Varsity. Getting started, Mulier lit the lamp in the first period. Justin Schoeneman got the assist on this goal. This put GBN Jr. Varsity out in front for good. GBN Jr. Varsity kept going when Mulier lit the lamp in the third period with an assist from Logan Nein. In an excellent performance, Logan Nein got two goals for GBN Jr. Varsity as well as two assists. Making it happen on the ice for GBN Jr. Varsity, Nein put the puck between the pipes in the second period. Jake Rabin and Jason Spector assisted on this goal. GBN Jr. Varsity fired up their game when Nein got another goal in the second period with an assist from Jared Epstein. Braeden Syrnyk, Eric Doar, Jake Rabin, Jared Epstein, and Justin Schoeneman each tallied one goal for GBN Jr. Varsity.

GBN Jr. Varsity extended their winning streak to nine games and ended up with a record of 48-5. St. Viator ended the game with a record of 0-3.
