GBN Jr. Varsity Wins Against Rockford 2-1

Tyler Mulier is leader with a goal, GBN Jr. Varsity makes forwards' life difficult to win

In a defensive battle, GBN Jr. Varsity overcame Rockford 2 - 1 at Northbrook Rink A Scholastic Hockey League Finals on Saturday. GBN Jr. Varsity tallied up one goal to take the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so GBN Jr. Varsity kept its lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but GBN Jr. Varsity kept the lead for the win.

In the first period, soaring through for GBN Jr. Varsity, Logan Nein put the puck in the net with an assist from Alex Crane with 11:56 left on the clock. In the third period, Rockford returned fire when Rockford scored a power play goal, to tie the game at 1 apiece. GBN Jr. Varsity fired back when Tyler Mulier got a goal with assists from Jonah Gould and Logan Nein with 4:51 left in the period, assuming the lead for the win.

Logan Nein got one goal for GBN Jr. Varsity and also had one assist. Tyler Mulier added one goal for GBN Jr. Varsity. Crane and Gould each tallied one assist for GBN Jr. Varsity.

GBN Jr. Varsity added to their current win streak of 11 games and ended up with a record of 51-5. Rockford ended the game with a record of 1-3.
