Alex Crane rips a goal and GBN Jr. Varsity shines on defense to achieve victory

In a low scoring game, GBN Jr. Varsity finished off Rockford 2 - 1 at Rockford Carlson Arena Scholastic Hockey League Finals on Sunday. Neither team managed to get the puck in the net in the first period. GBN Jr. Varsity took the lead in the second period with one goal. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but GBN Jr. Varsity kept the lead for the win.

In the second period, paving the way for GBN Jr. Varsity, Jared Epstein got a goal with 2:00 left in the period. Logan Nein assisted on the goal. This put GBN Jr. Varsity out in front for good. In the third period, in addition, Alex Crane lit the lamp without assistance with 9:54 left in the period, expanding their lead. In response, Rockford's Rockford scored a power play goal.

Alex Crane and Jared Epstein each added one goal for GBN Jr. Varsity. Nein tallied one assist for GBN Jr. Varsity.

GBN Jr. Varsity extended their winning streak to 13 games and ended up with a record of 52 wins and 5 losses. Rockford ended the game with a record of 1-4.
