The Varsity team defeated #1 seed Fenwick 3-2 Monday night to earn a spot in the 2011 Illinois State High School Championship Game against New Trier at the United Center on Sunday at 6:00 PM. GBN defeated Loyola Gold 5-4 in a thrilling triple overtime game on Saturday. The game on Sunday is GBN's third appearance in the State Championship in the last five years. The Spartans beat Fenwick in 2007 and New Trier in 2008.
