Troy Carroll was selected to play for the Illinois team in USA Hockey’s America’s High School Hockey Showcase in Pittsburgh, PA, April 13th through the 17th. Formerly called the Chicago Showcase it will be hosted by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center.

There are 22 boys’ teams representing 43 States competing. The purpose of this prestigious event is to allow the nation’s premier high school hockey players from around the country, who do not traditionally get scouted due to geographic and budgetary constraints within the scouting circles, the opportunity to compete against the best of the best during a five-day period and be seen by major junior and college hockey institutions in North America.

There were 120 players invited to try out for the Illinois team, including 12 goalies. Troy was one of two goalies eventually selected to make the trip and is the only representative from Metro North. We wish him well in the tournament.
