In a battle of top rank teams, Stevenson defeated GBN by the score of 4-1 Wednesday night in Northbrook.

The 2nd period was the key frame in the game as the Patriots netted 3 goals one of them a shorthanded variety.

Stevenson's physical play shut down much of the Spartans offense, allowing very few shots on goal and dominating the offensive zone time.

Each team scored a goal in the 3rd period, GBN's goal coming with less than a minute to play in the game on a power play.

The Spartans host Hinsdale Central Saturday in Northbrook.
