Glenbrook North (29-11-2 OTL- 1T) captured the Cornfield Cup at Culver Military Academy in Culver Indiana this past weekend.

In round robin play the Spartans defeated Carmel of Indian, Medina of Ohio and BGHW.

In the finals GBN defeated Culver by the score of 4-1.

Trailing going into the 2nd period, Owen Just snapped off a wicked wrist shot from the left circle for the Spartans 1st goal. A minute later Josh Genin scored on a goal off a  scramble while on the powerplay to give the Spartans a lead they would never relinquish.
Genin would close the period with highlight type goal as Ryan Rossi dug the puck out where Owen Just rushed the net and the puck popped up and Genin baseball batted it in.

Rossi closed out the scoring in the 3rd period when he received a pass from Just that sprung him for a breakaway and Rossi made two moves before unloading the puck in the back of the net.

Nate Kasdan was in goal for the championship game and recorded 4 wins on the trip.
